WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA ARCHITECTURE SURVEY BOOKS
This survey was conducted in 1936 of buildings in Allegheny County. Records exist for the entire county except the First and Second Wards of Pittsburgh. The records are arranged by ward/boro/township, then by street, and then by house/building number. The survey considered various details of construction including building type, floor and roof materials, plaster, heating source, plumbing, electricity, basement, whether it was owned or rented, and the dimensions and an outline of the building. These records are available at the County Records Center on the North Side. To use these records contact the Office of Records Administration.
